Using Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System
MOC2052—One Day Training Class
Introduction
This one-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to develop
solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office. This learning product assumes that
the .NET developer has an awareness of the Office application object models.
Audience
This course is intended for existing Visual Studio .NET application developers with
Office development experience. A secondary audience consists of existing .NET solution developers.
At Course Completion
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Use Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System.
- Develop Visual Studio Tools for Office solutions for Word 2003.
- Develop Visual Studio Tools for Office solutions for Excel 2003.
- Secure, deploy, and update Visual Studio Tools for Office solutions.
Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have:
- Experience with the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET development environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 or 1.1.
- Experience using either Microsoft Visual Basic .NET or Microsoft Visual C# .NET.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel.
- Some awareness of the Word and Excel object models.
Module 1: Using Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System
In this module, students will learn about using Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office System.
They will learn how the architecture of the tools allows them to use the .NET Framework functionality
and security in solutions that use Excel and Microsoft Word as a user interface.
