Overview
This course takes the student through the fundamentals of creating and working with workbooks, using formulas and basic functions, applying formatting and setting printing options. This course will introduce absolute references, three-dimensional formulas and the Insert Function tool.
Audience
This course is designed for students who are not new to computers but have limited Excel skills, if any. Those who use Excel primarily for data entry will benefit as will those who have never used the product.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, the student should be familiar with working with Windows and be comfortable using a mouse. The student should have at least minimal typing skills (be able to find keys without much delay).

After completing this course, students will be able to:

Module 1: The Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Interface
After completing this module, you will be familiar with the Microsoft Office 2007 interface, workbooks and worksheets. You will learn to customize a toolbar and the status bar.

Module 2: Creating a Spreadsheet and Entering Data
After completing this module, you will understand the primary benefits of an electronic spreadsheet. You will recognize the steps necessary for creating a spreadsheet, have the ability to enter and correct data, create simple formulas, and follow the order of operations. You will be aware of the importance of the Formula bar.

Module 3: Navigating in a Worksheet
After completing this module, you will be able to navigate a workbook. You will be able to lock rows to the top (or columns to the left) of a worksheet so they don’t scroll. You will be able to edit cells using the keyboard and the mouse.

Module 4: Ranges and Functions
After completing this module, you will be able to select a range of cells on a worksheet. You will be able to create formulas using Excel’s built-in functions.
Module 5: Moving and Copying Data
After completing this module, you will be able to move data, copy data, and create formulas that contain references that do not change when copied. You will use the Fill handle to fill in a series of numbers, text, and dates.

Module 6: Working with Multiple Worksheets

Module 7: Formatting a Worksheet

Module 8: Printing a Worksheet
