Every company of any size employs technicians who troubleshoot the difficulties
of the users, install software, and perform maintenance on desktop nodes. These
companies will see the MCDST certification as a reliable tool for assessing
skills. And because it is a Microsoft certification, they'll be confident that
the exams are fair and rigorous.
MCDST certification counts as an elective toward MCSA
The MCDST credential will count as the elective towards MCSA on Windows 2000
and MCSA on Windows Server 2003, so it will satisfy the elective requirement if
you are going for an MCSA. While the skill set needed by a helpdesk person is
different from the skills needed by a systems administrator, the desktop skills
do compliment the skillset needed by a systems administrator.
